I launched JVB in 2012 after working as a self-employed carpenter for a variety of builders and gaining first-hand knowledge of the industry. The company has grown in recent years and our reputation for delivering high quality work has gone from strength to strength.
I have a fantastic in-house team and skilled workforce. I am always looking at new opportunities to develop the business and our productivity, to ensure we continue to be regarded as a market leader in the construction industry.
I am responsible for pricing all new projects, creating detailed budget estimates for clients and tender documents. Along with valuations, my day-to-day role involves agreeing project variations and settling final accounts. I also produce project programmes, cash flow forecasts and measure and order materials from suppliers. I have several construction related qualifications and have worked in the industry for 16 years. I enjoy working on a project from inception through to completion, and ensuring the clients expectations are exceeded throughout.
I oversee a variety of construction projects and enjoy visiting our sites to make sure everything is running smoothly. I work closely with our workforce to ensure that they clearly understand every project brief and what is expected from the outset. I also keep a check on materials and order the items that are required on site. I find it really satisfying to see a build come to life. I trained as a carpenter and understand the importance of completing projects to the highest standards.
I handle all the admin roles in the office and assist Joe by attending client and supplier meetings. From sourcing project materials through to providing creative ideas and managing the company payroll, no day is ever the same. My background is in sales and I am skilled in negotiating with new suppliers. As the only female currently in the company I help the team to see things from every angle and prospective.
