When you are not familiar with any building firms it can be difficult to know if you’re picking the right one for you. Reading a building firms reviews from previous projects gives you an idea of their style and priorities. For example, some builders are cheap and cheerful, others can be too expensive or poor quality. Surely the best way is to listen to the customers who were previously in your position?

We commissioned JVB to undertake our project back in 2018. We simply couldn’t be happier with the end product. The quality is exceptional and we were impressed with the end to end process.
Their pricing is very thorough and their quote when we compared against other builders was by far the most comprehensive so we were confident they’d included everything in the costings. As we moved through the project, we were sent fortnightly valuations setting out % of works completed and therefore monies owing. Any changes are clearly accounted for, with any omissions or additions laid out clearly. We were always confident we knew where we were on the payment schedule. Their team are professional and as said the quality of finish is exceptional.
Regards to time and budget, the project ran over very slightly on time but we had really awful weather early last year and additional scope at our request. We were on point on budget which was really important to us as we couldn’t afford any unexpected costs.
JVB have a diligent, incredibly hard-working team who are personable and accessible but highly professional. We felt throughout the process that we were in safe hands and the team appreciated the importance of our once in a lifetime project.
Nothing was too much trouble if we needed advice or wanted the opportunity to discuss doing something in a different way and Joe was excellent at advising and recommending products that met our style and budget. We were put in touch with recommended trusted suppliers who we have since also recommended due to quality and service.
Since the completion of works I (Lesley) have started working Joe Bruckland (Director) and the team as Programme Manager, planning and managing the increasing portfolio of JVB Construction Projects. So not only can we recommend JVB Construction personally as a previous Client, I can also recommend them from a professional perspective as someone who has seen first-hand the operations onsite and in the back office.

JVB Construction worked on our extension and bathrooms towards the end of 2014 into 2015. Four years on this work still looks as good as new. We found a building company that really understood that this was our home and they carried out the work with this in mind.
