Summary
The ‘single storey rear extension and associated internal alterations’ project began in August 2016 and finished in October 2016. The work was completed to schedule and to Mark & Jane’s specification.

Our project was a fairly structural extension along the entire length of the house, with a large new kitchen, additional electrical and plumbing works and external paving to our patio. We selected JVB from a list of 4 quotations. Joe was neither the most expensive nor the cheapest. He came with very good references within our village. The work started at the beginning of August and completed towards the end of October 2016. Our family (including children and cat) lived in the house throughout. (I am a former construction professional.)
Time – Joe completed the work on time, including some additional scope items we had requested. His co-ordination of the various trades was great – no time lost waiting for them to turn up.
Cost – We paid what Joe quoted. Any additional items were quoted for and agreed in advance. Payments were either weekly / biweekly, based on work packages complete. We are extremely happy at the value for money of JVB’s work.
Quality – This was the key to our selecting Joe, based on recommendations from previous clients. Joe employs a core staff of very competent builders, and those he subcontracts to are all excellent, from plumbers to painters. The major structural element of the job was completed with speed and confidence, and this quality extended throughout. The finished job was of an excellent standard, and Joe attended to the (very few) snags in very good time.
Overall – Excellent communications with Joe meant we knew what was going on and planned. In particular, he is open and honest, and absolutely trustworthy. The same extends to his staff, who made our stay in the house as pleasant as possible, and who humoured our young children into the bargain.
In summary, we were extremely lucky to have selected Joe, and we’d wholeheartedly recommend him.
