Ewell is a suburban area in the borough of Epsom, Surrey, approximately 13 miles south of central London. A population of 35,000 people reside in the area, which is largely residential due to the opening of railway stations to the east and west in 1847 and 1859 respectively.

The modernist circular structure has a central glass dome and was built in 1967 to a design by A. G. Sheppard Fidler and Associates. Another building of note is the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin which was designed by Henry Clutton in 1848. Two of the most prominent neighbourhoods in the area are Ewell Court and West Ewell.
